Trail of Tears

                                                                      Trail of  Tears

In the 1827, the Cherokee organized a national government modeled upon that of the United States. The cherokee are a native American tribe that lived in around the territories in Mid-west. They had to adopted white culture and also, they had taken up white farming methods. President Jackson gives Native Americans land in part of the Louisiana Purchase in exchange for the land taken from them in the East. This was known as Indian Removal Act, Congress passed it in the year of 1830. Then, in 1838, the United States army forced more than 15,000 Cherokees  to march westward for about a thousand miles to Oklahoma. They died of cold and disease and it was such a terrified events known as the Trail of Tears.
Black Hawk  is the next spring warrior that led a group of 1,000 indians headed back to their fertile valley in a spadeful effort to reclaim their land. Most of the Indians were chased down  and killed when Black Hawk's band intreated into Wisconsin Territory called the Black Hawk War.  In 1835, is when the Second Seminole War began. In Florida white settlers wanted Seminoles to leave their land, however most refused and that was the reason why the war began. A few hundred Seminoles still managed to stay in Florida and most of them hidden in the thickly forecast awamps of the Everglades.
